60 Years and Counting

In 1959, a group of musical theatre lovers started a small theatre company and named it Albuquerque Light Opera (ALO). They produced their first show in 1960. As the company grew, so did the name. On August 14, 1972, we became incorporated with the State of New Mexico as Albuquerque Civil Light Opera Association (ACLOA), which enjoyed many years of popularity and growth. In 1999, the organization changed the name to Musical Theatre Southwest (MTS) to better focus attention on the artistic product. View our history for more details.

We look forward to celebrating our Diamond Jubilee of entertaining New Mexico audiences for 60 years with you!

We hope you will join us at our Gala on Saturday, February 2, 2019.
